Design and carve your own solid-body electric guitar. The Electric Guitar app makes the body, neck, fretboard and pickguard as separate workpieces, sized to your stock and ready to carve.
The shapes come from guitar builder Chris Monck's drawings and video series on building a guitar with Easel. He set the pockets and holes to be compatible with the hardware you can buy at StewMac.

What you can choose
- Body shape: double cutaway or single cutaway, right- or left-handed
- Pickups: three single coils, two humbuckers or two P-90 soapbars
- Neck: a 25.5" scale with 22 frets and a six-in-line headstock, with optional pockets for inlay dots
- Stock: the thickness of your body, neck, fretboard and pickguard blanks
How it's built
- The volume and tone pots, the pickup switch and the output jack all mount on the pickguard, so you only carve the body from the front.
- Single coils and humbuckers hang from the pickguard, which has a pilot hole on each side of every pickup opening.
- The body is drilled for a top-loading hardtail bridge.
- The neck is 1.6858" wide at the nut to fit a pre-slotted nut, and it's cut for a two-way truss rod you adjust at the headstock. The back of the neck is left square for you to round by hand.
Before you carve
Open the Hardware tab for the parts and materials, with StewMac item numbers. The Stock tab lists the blank size for each workpiece. Switch the preview between Guitar and Blanks to see the finished instrument or how each part lays out on its stock.

Tell us what you think
This app is in early access. If you build one, let us know how the parts fit and what you'd change. Photos of your guitar are very welcome.
