To carve a trivet:
• Carve 01 – Vertical Vent Slots
• Carve 02 – Horizontal Vent Slots
• Carve the center detail (e.g., a Loon, a Dragon, ...)
• Carve the Outline
In one of the photographs, 4 green "Shapeoko Essential Camps" are used for workholding, and the other 3 green clamps are used (upside down) for positioning. These positioning elements enable us to flip the project over, and maintain the (X,Y,Z) work origin. Very simple positioning jig.
COMMENTS
Flip milling is kind of intimidating. This seems like a good project to get my feet wet with.
