I used bamboo for the base, and a mix of thin acrylic and walnut for the inlay. Be sure to update material thickness and cut depths to match your material. I used double sided tape instead of tabs to help reduce sanding / finishing work.

select the shapes, then right click (or select "Edit", then select "Separate"

From there, you can create new groups if you want to keep the individual feathers grouped together for example
