Cut wheel halves

Cut out the wheel halves on the x-carve using the digital design file.

Estimated time: 16 minutes

insert the balast

cut two 4.3 in. lengths of eighth inch dia. 50/50 solder and insert one each into the grooves in the wheel halves. Glue the halves together.

make the shaft

cut a ten inch length of quarter inch dowel. taper one end by spinning it against a sander. Screw a threaded hook into the other end. If you can't find a tiny hook, you can make one by opening an eyelet with pliers.

Insert the shaft

Insert the shaft in the wheel leaving the hooked end protruding approximately two and a quarter inches from the wheel.

finishing

Rub with boiled linseed oil. Let dry over night.
