This clock uses the mechanism from the Inventables store, a minimal red HDPE housing, and a few options of custom acrylic clock hands.

Mill the clock housing

Using 1/2" or even 3/4" material, mill the two part housing for the clock mechanism.

Mill the clock hands pattern

Mill the clock hands using a ballnose endmill, this will give those shallow channels.

Cut clock hands profile

Switch to a square or fishtail endmill and cut the profile for the clock dials.

(optional) Cut traditional clock hands

If you decide you want a more traditional clock face you can cut simple hands from an opaque acrylic material.
