I used Amazon 3/4 pipe screens. They are just a bit bigger than the hole and just sit there. Eventually it has to be replaced if used much so you don't want to use any type of permanent glue.

The size of the file is within the work area of an X-Carve. I don't see any reason that it wouldn't work. Did you test it?
