This design allows you to use different contours, depending on the book... some books might want the flat side, others the curved side. At 3/4" thick, you can engrave a personal message on the edge. Great way to use a bit of scrap.

Finish with sanding, shellac, sanding again (or fine steel wool). In the picture, I laser engraved the two flat sides.
