Using "this Easel file":partsA, cut the treads, eye bezel, and medium-sized gear. There's an extra gear in the file in case you need it.

Using "this Easel file":partsB cut the eyes and small gear parts.

Now, cut the wheel and large gear parts using "this Easel file":partsC

Assemble the treads to the body using a little bit of wood glue. The parts should fit right together.
Attach the gray eye bezel with a little bit of wood glue. This part is not meant to be removable.
The rest of the parts are meant to be removable, so just clean them up a little and put them on once the treads have dried.
Have fun!
Any reason this wouldn't work on an X-carve?
Michael Trader
Yes, it would definitely work on an X-carve - you could even make a bigger one!

Great - perhaps a couple more newcomer questions? 1) what is the easiest way to scale up all easel plans consistently? 2) What bit would you recommend?
Michael Trader
Scale drawings in the "shape" tab in the floating cut/shape toolbar. For the "Size" option, lock the proportions and specify a new dimension to scale. Calculate the percentage that you're scaling it up consistently for all of the parts. The bit used is a 1/16" fishtail.

Feel free to ask more questions. Sorry for the short answer above - it only allows 300 characters per post. Thanks!

the file for step 2-to 5 is missing. will you share?
Torben Rene Kristensen
@Torben all of the files are available on Easel, but they have to be accessed through the links in the individual steps. Just click on those and you should be good to go. Thanks!
