Instructions

1

Open in Easel

You'll be cutting three materials for this project. Here are the Easel projects for each material:

3/4" Maple: http://app.easel.com/projects/aKi0qY-N5wayLmLuDPjUIw

1/8" Cherry http://app.easel.com/projects/jfqQboOtJibtNHV7E-aYOg

1/8" Maple http://app.easel.com/projects/h1hDwBNMLl1yzVWiXaoOSQ

2

Cut it Out

I used an 1/8" upcut spiral bit for the 3/4" maple and 1/8" cherry and a 1/16" fishtail to cut the letter in 1/8" maple.

3

Sand and Glue

I sanded the two pieces of 3/4" maple with 80 and 120 grit paper until the fit was snug but easy to seperate.

I sanded the 1/8" cherry and maple with 120 grit paper to clean up the edges and faces.

I glued the 3/4" maple and 1/8" cherry circles together and let them dry overnight.

The next morning I glued the 1/8" maple letter to the top of the box.

4

Finish

I used a little pure tung oil to protect and finish the box.
