Adjust depths to your wood. Carve. Sanding sealer. Varnish. Spray black. Sand back. Paint the rest as you see fit. Varnish. Place on festive tree. Design by #2 son, aged 8, who will be painting next weekend. Penguin lineart lifted from internet but rest self work.
