This is a 19" equipment rack. It uses mortise and tenon joinery, no glue required. It can be cut from a single sheet of 5x5' 0.5" baltic birch plywood.
Am I missing something, or does this need to be cut twice?

Thats correct. Cut two copies of the first two layouts, and as many shelves as you want.
