ABOUT THE POSITION
The Product Manager II will contribute to the strategy, development, and implementation of our revolutionary SaaS product, Easel. Easel combines design, CAM, and machine control into a single cloud based, easy to learn platform. The PM II will translate customer needs into simple, elegant, and reliably implemented functionality. The ideal candidate is a creative, results-oriented, empathy-driven collaborator.
Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, you will support the vision and roadmap for Easel, taking on ownership of large components of the product. You will execute product discovery and development processes, perform user research, lead brainstorming exercises, and scope and prioritize work for the Easel software development team.
You will play a critical role in executing product strategies to help the team accomplish their goals. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of product strategy, experience building design and/or collaboration software, and have a track record of strong cross-functional collaboration. You should also possess exceptional creative, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Here’s what you’ll do:
• Develop and maintain an intimate understanding of our customers by participating in ongoing qualitative and quantitative user research efforts
• Collaborate with the rest of the product team to execute a Double Diamond process for exploring problems and choosing solutions that deliver on our strategies
• Write user stories and collaborate with UI/UX designers and software engineers to communicate these stories with clarity and conviction
• Facilitate steady development progress by removing roadblocks, clarifying requirements, and addressing questions from key stakeholders
• Lead the team within a framework rooted in iterative improvements and validated learning
• Define and analyze key performance metrics on an ongoing basis, using the results to develop rationale for guiding future recommendations
• Support and assist with efforts to optimize the user experience through new and innovative solutions and product capabilities, with emphasis on collaborative features and workflow simplifications
• Provide regular product updates to internal stakeholders
Here’s what you need:
• 1-3 years of experience in product management
• Experience building design, manufacturing, or collaborative software
• Experience working directly with customers to help them have a successful experience
• Experience working with stakeholders and managing expectations
• Strong analytical mindset, ability to draw inferences from data
• Organized and detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Resourcefulness, curiosity, and ability to work independently
• Ability to demonstrate strong decision making
• Experience working within cross-functional teams
• Excellent listening skills and comfortable communicating and participating in team meetings
• A willingness to learn new skills and tools quickly with mentorship and training
It would be a bonus if you have:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with Product Roadmaps
• Experience sketching or mocking up concepts
• Experience using digital fabrication tools
• Experience working with woodworkers in any capacity
• Experience developing software that interfaces with hardware components
• Experience designing and running experiments
• Small to midsize startup experience in remote-first work
• Experience building a SaaS product or working within a team shipping SaaS products
• Experience with conducting qualitative and quantitative customer research and translating data into actionable insights that drive product development
• Software Development in an agile environment
