2D basic map of the Gulf of Mexico. I generalized the contour lines and simplified them. Then stained the various depths with dark tints of blue. 24x24

What did you use to stain the wood different shades of Blue?
Jordan Grausam
I used the same stain just added various coats to the wood over and over until I got them they way I wanted them.
Richard M
I like it a lot. Great job.
Paul Weinstein
Thank you!
Richard M
What program did you use to get the topographic map? I'm having trouble finding one for a school project.
Mattison Donaldson
I found a image and just removed / cleaned up the items I didn't want on there. I also removed some of the elevation lines to simplify it.
Richard M
Where did you get the wood to make this happen? I'm still getting my xcarve legs under me and am hunting for nice solid pieces of wood to fit the full size of the machine.
Tom Larsen
This is 5 layers of 1/4in birch plywood. I cut each layer separate and then stacked them together.
