Make labels for your garden

Mark vegetable rows with names or colorful characters, or add illustrated herb tags to a planter. Explore shared designs or customize your own.

Find a garden label

Start from a blank workpiece

Draw your sign shape and add the name

On an empty workpiece, draw a closed pointed outline with Easel’s vector tool. Turn the marker so its tip points right, then add BASIL with the text tool and place the upright lettering inside the stake. This staged screenshot animation shows the native drawing steps and the resulting 3D preview.

Genuine Easel Sandbox screenshots show a native vector outline becoming a horizontal garden stake with its tip pointing right and upright BASIL lettering inside, alongside the material preview.

This unsaved design demonstration does not show a finished carve. Set the stock thickness, outline depth and workholding for the material you use before cutting.

Use names, vegetable shapes or hanging herb tags

These builds put labels in different places: directly in the soil, on clear stakes or against the front of a planter. Each has a shared Easel design and a credited maker.

Hold narrow stakes and adapt the herb names

Hold the HDPE sheet with tape

Charlie used double-faced tape to hold his two-color HDPE and a 1/16-inch O-flute bit for these narrow markers. His notes specify no tabs. That is a workholding choice for this plastic sheet, not a reason to remove tabs from every material.

Change the herb names to suit your garden

The herb sheet uses Portuguese names. In the project discussion, Cristiana explains that you can change the words to your own language. Replace the text with the herbs you grow while keeping the illustrated tag shapes.
