Make a wooden carrier for six bottles

Bring a six pack of drinks to a picnic or give a favorite selection as a gift. Choose an open-sided tote or a divided box, then customize it with a name or logo on the side.

Start from a blank workpiece

Lay out six bottle openings in Easel

Start on a blank workpiece. Turn a square into a rectangular separator panel for a six pack bottle carrier, then add six circles in two rows of three. Cut outside the panel outline and inside the circle paths at the stock thickness, rather than clearing out six pockets. The native 3D preview shows the profile cuts with tabs holding the panel and circular offcuts in place; remove those tabs and offcuts after cutting. Adjust the hole diameter and spacing for your bottles without resizing the carrier’s joining slots.

Recorded in the Easel editor, playing at 3× real speed.

This demonstration draws one separator panel, not a complete carrier. Measure your bottles and leave room between them; the base, handle, joints and load strength need their own design and fit checks.

Choose a curved handle, a dowel grip or open sides

These carriers separate six bottles in different ways. The box with a dowel grip uses thin dividers; the other two use round bottle openings.

Fit the handle board and finish the box in stages

Resize handle slots without moving their centers

Ed asks makers to measure the handle board and change the slot width to match it, while keeping each slot center in place. That lets a different handle thickness fit the box without shifting the handle off its intended position. Changing the whole carrier’s scale would also change those joints.

Ask a question

Paint the panels before gluing the box

Ed suggests painting the separate panels first, when the faces are easy to reach. Assemble the box before rounding its corners, then glue in the handle and apply the final stain or clear finish. His sequence keeps the handle out of the way while the box edges are rounded.

Make room for the bottles you want to carry

A dowel grip suits Jason’s divided box; Ed’s separate handle fits through the bottle panel. Choose the construction you like, then set the bottle spacing and side lettering in your own Easel design.
