Print a paper version before changing the proportions

Beyond Design recommends printing a paper version when resizing the stand. Use it to check the back, hooks and slots together before cutting your material. His instructions also suggest a small file or light sanding if a finished joint is too tight.

Leave room for the notebook as well as the tray

Charles M.’s stand is 8 by 11.75 inches and supports a notebook of the same size at a 30-degree angle. For your version, use the notebook’s footprint to plan the back panel and leave space for the book above the tray.
